We expect to be back on the courts at MPTC in less than two weeks!

Get planning your tennis season with these important dates:

Note: most sign ups for events and clinics are done in Court Reserve. Only ladders have their own site (see below).

♦ May 14th: Session 1 (June 1 – July 20) House League registration starts on May 14 at 7 a.m. (Sign up in Court Reserve, under Events> Club Social Activities.)

♦ May 15th: Singles/doubles ladders go live. Join via a free account on Tennis Rungs    https://app.tennisrungs.com/Public/Register/129380251

♦ May 18th: Tentative date future court times are bookable on CourtReserve*

♦ May 20th: The big reveal of our resurfaced tennis courts, weather permitting*

♦  May 24th: Official Season Opener - BBQ lunch (12 p.m.) and round robin (1-3 p.m.)

♦ May 30th: Weekly Round Robins take off – sign up and pizza begin at 6:30 p.m.     Play is 7 -9 p.m. (Round robins switch to Wednesdays from July 16th to end of August)

♦ June 1st: Sign-up deadline for Philpott Summer Slam charity tournament (Aug 16-17).    Two MPTC doubles teams welcome. https://wanlesstennis.com/philpott-summer-slam/

*The fine print on MPTC’s reopening date

The application of surface colouring and lines by Premium Court is scheduled to begin May 12th. (Update - good weather meant Premium was able to make a start on May 10, but 11th was too cold..)

Six days of good weather are required before the courts are playable – three days to complete surface painting and three days for curing.   

Check CourtReserve a couple of days ahead of the targeted completion to see if court bookings have opened. Also, please watch that space for a call for volunteers for court set up.

In the meantime, hope for no rain and plenty of sunshine so the court lines can cure.

Never have so many been so eager to watch paint dry.
