kids progr.jpg

MPTC provides a modern tennis program experience for children 4 – 17 years of age.

We offer:

  • a spring program, starting in May and running to the end of June,

  • a Summer Camp, in July and August, and

  • a fall program in September.

Once parents have a Court Reserve account, (as a club member or a non-member guardian) and have bought their children a Junior or Daytime Junior membership for the year, they will be able to register their children for programs online, through the Events feature in Court Reserve.

New accounts for Non-members Guardians and Daytime Junior Memberships for children new to the club will be available from mid-March on.

The Club posts the signups on Court Reserve as soon as they are ready.

Junior Program FAQs

How do I register my child?

In your own account in Court Reserve.  Instructions are here

How do I pay?

Payment for junior memberships and Junior programs/camps are made by credit card in Court Reserve under Billing> Transactions or use the Pay Fees button from a computer.  Membership fees must be paid IN FULL before a child can be registered for lessons.

See instructions under How to Register

What happens if my child misses a class?

There will be no refunds or make-ups for missed classes.

Does my child have to be a member of Moore Park Tennis Club, in order to participate in programs?"

Kids need either a Daytime Junior or a Junior  membership to participate in programs at MPTC.

The Daytime Junior Memberships are available to children new to the club throughout the season.

Membership dues are paid to the Club, through the Court Reserve online system, by credit card, while instruction fees are paid to the Head Pro, Matt Baccarani.

How old does my child need to be to take lessons?

We accept children into our programs aged four years and up, as of January 1 of the current year.

Can I request my child be grouped with another child?

Yes, if space is available, we will do our best to accommodate.

If we sign our junior up for Monday and Wednesday (or Tuesday and Thursday) program, can they attend any of the other days that offer their level?"

Unfortunately once a junior signs up for a particular class or classes, these will be the classes they must attend. This is due to the fact that we have a set number of coaches for each class based on the number of juniors attending. If more kids join the class unexpectedly, then our ratio of juniors to coaches will be affected.

My child has little to no previous experience in tennis. Are they still able to register for your programs?

Yes, we accept all levels of play. Our programs allow for everyone to take part, learn, have fun and feel comfortable right away.

How often should a junior practice?

The amount of time one should practice depends on age, skill, and individual goals.

Do I need to provide a racquet and balls and for my child?

We will provide all the balls for our programs. We can supply racquets if required, however, we do suggest that each player brings their own.

What is the player to coach ratio in your programs?

Our maximum player to coach ratio is 8:1.

Is there anything my child needs to bring?

Athletic shoes, athletic clothing that they can move in and a water bottle. Players will not be allowed to play in flip flops or sandals.

What methods of payment do you accept for programs?

Pay by Credit Card within Court Reserve.  Payment must be received within 15 minutes or the registration is automatically canceled by the system.  Refunds (less a $30 admin fee) are requested by emailing mooreparkpro@gmail.com

Are programs cancelled when it rains?

It depends. During light rain, or if the courts are wet but it has stopped raining, programs may be delayed as we attempt to dry the courts. Programs will be canceled if the courts are too wet to dry or if it's still raining and the forecast shows no signs of letting up.

How do I know if a lesson has been cancelled?

The parent or guardian with an account on Court Reserve will receive an email if programs are cancelled.
