As a junior, Matt represented Canada at the World Youth Cup, won a National Title in U18 doubles and finished top 5 nationally in singles twice. Prior to graduating from Ball State, Matt achieved ATP rankings in both singles and doubles.

Upon graduating, Matt went on to coach Sharon Fichman on the professional circuit for 3 years and helped her to reach WTA rankings of 115 in singles and 86 in doubles. He was the traveling coach for Genie Bouchard when she won her first ever pro event and the first of two Junior Wimbledon Doubles Titles.

Over the past 8 years Matt has coached at York Racquets, where he will continue to teach in the winters, and Thorncliffe Park TC as the Head Professional and Director of Tennis. He plans to offer a variety of programs geared toward all ages and all levels of play.
