Court Booking
1.1
Tags
Each
member is provided with a tag to be used for court reservation on
the tag board. No court can be reserved for play without the use
of a members tag. No one may move or use any tag other than
his own. Each member is responsible for replacing his own tag on
the peg board upon completion of play.
1.2
Booking a Court
Each
member must be at the club to reserve a place on a court. Members
playing on a court may not advance their tags until the entire
period reserved has expired.
No member whose
tag is on the board and who is on the court may leave the court
prior to the end of the playing period in order to move his tag
to the following period. The tag may be moved at the end of the
playing period only.
Calling the
Club Attendant in order to reserve a court is not permitted.
Only adult members
and junior members with adult privileges may tag up for a court.
1.3
Tagging Up for Lessons
Members
who are taking private or group lessons must place their tags on
the appropriate court on the board.
A member taking
a lesson may not advance his tag until the lesson is over.
1.4
Court Availability
Members
must tag up on unoccupied courts when these are available. This
includes courts that are unoccupied up to 15 minutes into the tag
time.
Members are
welcome to play on unoccupied courts prior to their tag time, and
may request balls for that purpose. However, they only have the
right to the court for the playing period they tag up for. Members
who wish to tag up on a court for the remaining 25 minutes of court
time may bump any players who are not tagged up for that time slot.
Only after all
unoccupied courts have been reserved for the next full playing period
may members tag up for subsequent court times.
Singles are
not permitted when other members are waiting to play. However,
if a singles match has been in progress for five minutes or more,
it may not be interrupted.
If the courts
are not fully occupied, members may continue to play for as many
tag periods as they wish. In order to secure the court members should
move their tags onto the next period of play on the tag board.
1.5
Guests
Each
member is allowed to bring a guest. The member has to register the
guest's name with the Club Attendant and pay a fee of $5.00. A member
can invite guests up to 5 times during the season.

who have been identified as qualifying for adult privileges are

Those with junior
privileges may only play with an adult member or a member who has
adult privileges.
Only adult members
or a junior with adult privileges may tag up for a court.
2.2
Disruptive Behaviour
If
a junior members behavior is disruptive, the junior member
may be asked to leave the court. Disruptive behavior could include
excessive noise or too many balls going onto neighboring courts.

members, then the balls must be returned to the Club Attendant.
Members will
be supplied with fresh balls when needed if, in the judgement of
the attendant, the old balls are not usable or they have been used
for three time periods. Used balls must be returned to the attendant
before new balls will be provided.
3.3
Court Courtesy and Etiquette
At
no time may a player intrude on or behind another court in order
to retrieve a ball. Only after the point has been concluded on the
other court should the player request the return of the ball.
Members are
expected to show good sportsmanship and good manners to other members
on and off the courts.
If a members
behavior is disruptive, the member may be asked to leave the court.
3.4
Cell Phones
Cell
phones are not permitted on the courts at anytime.
3.5

use ball hoppers on court one provided that they have permission
from the attendant.
The attendant
will only allow the use of ball hoppers on court one if courts two

History
The Moore Park
Tennis Club was established in 1925. The membership at that time
was limited to residents of the surrounding community and the Executive
Committee had the right to deny membership to anyone they deemed
not acceptable. Not until the 1050's were the gravel courts replaced
by five hard surface courts.
There was, in
the early years, an annual yearbook which included poetry and advice
to the membership, including: "The first and best victory is
to conquer oneself". Each year the season was concluded with
a formal dinner and dance, complete with five piece orchestra in
one of the city's best hotels. Annual membership was set at.................
$3.00.
